FAQ

Q: Where can we find the spec sheets for your products?

A: Specification sheets for all of the US Architectural and Sun Valley products can be found on our website under the products.  Products can be accessed either in the dropdown under Product or directly under the Download dropdown menu.

Q: Can anchor bolts be pre shipped?

A: Yes, anchor bolts are frequently shipped ahead and we make it easy to do so.  Simply advise your customer service person that you wish to have these line items shipped ahead.

Q: Can I cancel the order?

A: Orders can be cancelled with no penalty until the factory has initiated work on your order, including ordering components.  Once your order has been processed for manufacture, the company reserves the right to assess a minimum restocking charge of 50% of the order value.

Q: Are your True Amber fixtures approved by the Florida Wildlife Commission?

A: All of our fixtures can be specified with True Amber.  This spectral power distribution has no blue emission with consequently meets the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission requirements.  Each individual luminaire has not been submitted to FFWCC

Q: Where the heck is Palmdale?

A: Palmdale is a city north of the city of Los Angeles, in California.  It is part of the high desert region and is a part of the Antelope Valley.

Q: What is going on with U.S. Arch/Sun Valley?

A: U. S. Architectural and Sun Valley Lighting are both brands of the U.S. Pole Company which is an exciting, growing employee-owned company (ESOP) best known for decorative outdoor lighting products, best-in-class photometric performance and innovative new products.

Q: Why don’t you put lumen packages on the cutsheets?

A: Because our customers have asked, we now include lumen values on all our product cut-sheets.  The reason that we have not always included lumen values, is that lumens are a flux measurement that is not indicative of the true effective performance of a luminaire in the area where light is required and desired.  For true luminaire performance, a lighting layout should be created.

Q: Why don’t you have B.U.G. ratings on your cutsheets?

A: B.U.G. ratings, short for Backlight, Uplight and Glare, are the most undesirable zones for an outdoor luminaire to produce light.  Since our customers have asked, we are now including BUG ratings on our cut sheets.

Q: Are you going to be adding any more fixtures to the US Arch line?

A: US Architectural has an aggressive new product program that is laid out for several new products each year, most recently the Pacifica family and Beyond Bollard.

Q: When can we come visit the factory?

A: US Pole, on behalf of its brands encourages our professional colleagues to come and visit our Palmdale, California, USA facility where we are vertically integrated and craft our products from aluminum ingot.  Speak to your local representative to arrange a visit.  Find your local representative from our , , .

Q: Where can we get easy access to your photometric (IES) files?

A: There are a variety of locations to access IES files for U.S. Architectural & Sun Valley Products:

Website - All IES files for each individual product are grouped and located within the specific product IES Zip files.  You must download the IES Zip file for each product you are working with to locate the individual IES file(s).

IES Zip files are accessible at (4) different locations on our website:

Main Menu / "Products" tab - Select the specific category of Luminaires.  From the grid of luminaires that fall within the chosen category (grid in Alphabetical order), find your specific luminaire and roll over the luminaire image.  Click on the IES Zip file link to download.

Main Menu / "Downloads" tab - Select the specific category of Luminaires.  From the list of luminaires that fall within the chosen category (list in Alphabetical order), find your specific luminaire and click on the IES Zip file link to download located within the "IES" column.

The two above pages can also be easily accessed within the Quicklinks Menu on the Home page - Quicklinks \US Arch. Products or \Sun Valley Products or \LED IES Files.

Specific Product pages - Each Product page has a Download Tab where the IES Zip file(s) can be accessed and downloaded.

The Instabase - All U.S. Architectural & Sun Valley Product IES files can also be accessed on The Instabase within Lighting Analysts software.  The Instabase can be accessed within AGI32, ElumTools & Photometric Toolbox.  Upon selecting the "Instabase" button within these Lighting Analyst's programs, a separate Instabase window will pop up, and you will be prompted to select a "Brand".  All U.S. Architectural & Sun Valley Product IES files are under the "US Pole Company" Brand folder.  Select the US Architectural - Sun Valley Lighting subfolder and click OK.

The Instabase also has the option to "Connect Via Default Browser", which offers a separate Instabase Browser that allows the user to "Drag and Drop" directly into Lighting Analyst software.  We strongly encourage this option.
